I hate being called “Maam”. And other realizations.

1. Why does he have to address me as “Maam” every time I give him a call? He’d answer and say, “Yes, Maam!” WTF?!

2. I am enjoying this simple war. Catfight. Meowwww! I think I’m a war freak…

3. I’m a possessive person. I don’t want other people to get in the way.

———-

In fairness I had a good weekend. My friend John Rae was here in Davao since Friday night so I took him around again just like last time. He was my first visitor on my first weekend here in Davao, and he was the one with me when I first got drunk at Rizal Promenade! Haha. Anyway on Friday night we had dinner at Someplace Else, did some good shisha/ hookah, then went to Chico’s and Urban Club with Bong and her friends. Yesterday we went to Eden’s Nature Park to do the zip line (my third time!), had an 80 pesos foot massage (sarap… I slept!) at MTS, went to People’s Park, and had dinner at Penong’s. Today we went to Paradise Island, then went to the gym. I was supposed to have my last two swimming lessons this weekend and have my eyebrows threaded but I’ll just postpone it to next week so I have something to do :)

Ok, I’m a fan.

Jologs na kung jologs, but yes I do follow this soap opera! This is the only other Filipino soap opera I followed since Mula Sa Puso, which also starred Claudine Barretto. Haha.

Just some thoughts.

1. Why are all the good guys taken, or married?

2. Why do people pine for someone who doesn’t love them back?

I laughed my heart out at these pickup lines Bong demo’d to me last night.

Girl (to a married guy): Are you happy?

Guy: Yes.

Girl: How many percent?

Guy: 110%.

Girl: … that was before you met me.

Another version:

Girl (to a married guy): Are you happy?

Guy: Yes.

Girl: How many percent?

Guy: 90%.

Girl: … then I’ll take care of the 10%.

:P

The morning after the Saturday night.

I have a terrible, terrible hangover. A splitting headache. And I feel like puking but I can’t. I had too much to drink last night that I was this close to puking drunk. It was fun though! Bong picked me up at 7, then we watched the Earth, Wind & Fire Experience concert, joined by some of her friends and their friends. The concert was cool! The Al McKay All-Stars band sang all EWF”s hits– but I would have also wanted to hear “Every Now And Then”, “The Right Time”, and “Boogie Wonderland”. The show started at 9:30 and ended by 11:00– and I have to say the Davao concert crowd was so DEAD. The venue (SM Parking) wasn’t full, people weren’t dancing, and there were even more people in the Hed Kandi parties I go to at the World Trade Center in Manila. It was just like some concert at the Southridge Family Days, and I bet there would have been more people if a local show like Wowowee or Eat Bulaga was in Davao!!! Haha. Nevertheless I had a good time. Buti nalang the friends of Bong’s friends came over so there were about 7 of us.

We then wanted to go to Chico’s but the place was jam packed! So we just stayed at Salutti right beside it and had drinks there. I think I had 5 beers total! We were also joined by 3 other people so there were a lot of us, and they tried to set me up with this architect. 3 of them (I forgot their names, I’m bad with names!) are also from Manila so at least that was something in common. We stayed till about 3am, then went off to Rizal Promenade to get some more drinks. Man that place is just a gay hangout– no straight guys AT ALL!

So we went home at about 4am and I was just hammered, man. I had a hard time going up the spiral staircase to my apartment. I missed going out though. I haven’t gone out on a Saturday night in ages ever since I “broke up” with my clubbing partner. Hahaha. I miss my friends and the more jam packed Manila too. Of course it’s different hanging out with people your age. And I still miss clubbing– the people I hang out with, and the people they hang out with right now aren’t clubbing people at all so I can’t wait to go clubbing next month (in Iloilo)!

And, good thing I don’t have swimming lessons today. I’m not in shape at all to do treading and freestyle!!!

Cheers to Lucky Me Beef!

Yes, I eat this every day. In fact, I’ve eaten this once a day for the past month. And I’m not sick of it… yet. Yum. Best served with egg.

Finally hit the 20’s mark!

29 days to go. Ok, it can get tiring if I keep counting down this way. Anyway it’s the 4-day weekend! We’re celebrating Kadayawan here in Davao today, then we have the weekend, and on Monday it’s another holiday to celebrate National Heroes’ Day. It’s my first time here in Davao to celebrate Kadayawan but I’m not really going out to celebrate and watch all the parades since I don’t have anyone to go with :( but I’m watching a concert tomorrow– the Earth, Wind & Fire Experience concert featuring this foreign tribute band (with EWF’s guitarist Al McKay) called The Al McKay All-Stars. Cool!

I do hope they sing Every Now and Then, which is probably my favorite Earth, Wind and Fire song–which at some point in my stay here in Davao was on perpetual repeat!

Anyway in other news, check out this cool site to promote awareness among the youth of Ninoy Aquino and his heroism in the Philippines: http://www.iamninoy.com

I don’t know if they did it on purpose, but the IAMNINOY campaign sounds a lot like the I AMSTERDAM one. Any resemblance???

I just noticed… But the Ninoy campaign’s pretty cool. I wonder if I can get the items here in Davao. I especially love the Team Manila tees!

But anyway back to my daily blogging update, I had my second session in swimming today. It was much more tiring than the first one! Today I practiced the freestyle, and crossing the whole pool without going up for a breather! That was cool. My instructor says we’re quite advanced with the lessons and I should be finished with the entire lesson by the third session, so for the last three sessions he’ll be teaching me some weight loss swimming techniques. Great! :) I’m not regretting ever taking the swimming lessons at all!

And for my meals… today was kinda loaded.

Breakfast: Lucky Me Beef with egg

Lunch: Chicken hotdog, rice, cheese, ginataang monggo, orange juice, apple cider

Dinner: 2 ham sandwiches, frozen canned pineapples, apple cider

I’m still sticking to the After Six diet so hopefully that works out!

… Oh and by the way, I’m starting to feel better despite not having to hear from * on a regular basis as before! Everything’s still cool, I know. Hey, we’ll be seeing each other soon!

Exactly a month to go!

Breakfast: Lucky Me Chicken, 3 pieces Hansel biscuits

Lunch: I blasted! Chinese food. Seafood rice, sweet & sour pork, lemon chicken, broccoli with garlic, chopsuey, orange juice, fresh pineapples, apple cider

Snack: Durian piaya

Dinner: Adobong kangkong, Apple Cider

I had a good time at the gym today but it was the most tiring! I spent about 40 minutes on the treadmill, then joined the group dance class. Man, I got rusty with my dancing skills!

Tomorrow until Monday I probably won’t be going to the gym, but I’ll be swimming anyway so that should be enough :) Looking forward to the long weekend!

31 days to go…

I CAN’T THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE! I WAS SOOOO EXCITED ABOUT IT ON THE WAY HOME TODAY! I cannot wait for the first time we’ll see each other again since THAT time. Make or break. And I just wanna give him a big, tight, meaningful hug to express how much I missed him. :)

Lifehouse- Hanging By A Moment

Desperate for changing, starving for truth
I’m closer to where I started chasing after you
I’m falling even more in love with you, letting go of all I’ve held onto
I’m standing here until you make me move, I’m hanging by a moment here with you

Forgetting all I’m lacking, completely incomplete
I’ll take your invitation, you take all of me now…

I’m falling even more in love with you, letting go of all I’ve held onto
I’m standing here until you make me move, I’m hanging by a moment here with you
I’m living for the only thing I know, I’m running and not quite sure where to go
And I don’t know what I’m diving into, just hanging by a moment here with you

There’s nothing else to lose, there’s nothing else to find
There’s nothing in the world that can change my mind
There is nothing else, there is nothing else, there is nothing else
